Armenian pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan returns to Finland with Manifeste — a bold and immersive fusion of jazz improvisation, Armenian folk roots, and progressive rock energy.

Renowned as one of the most distinctive pianists and composers of his generation, Hamasyan blends centuries-old melodies with a modern rhythmic language that feels both ancient and futuristic.

A prodigy from Armenia, he began playing piano at age three and as a teenager won both the Montreux Jazz Festival Piano Competition and the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition. Over his career, he has received numerous honors — including Victoires de la Musique, Echo Jazz Award, and Deutscher Jazzpreis — and released acclaimed albums on Nonesuch, ECM, and naïve.

His new album “Manifeste” is scheduled to for release in February 2026. It intertwines Armenian choral textures, progressive rhythms, and spiritual resonance into a multi-layered sonic journey. Featuring collaborations with Artyom Manukyan, Arthur Hnatek, Matt Garstka, Nate Wood, and the Yerevan State Chamber Choir, the album expands Hamasyan’s musical vision into new, transcendent dimensions.

At Korjaamo, Hamasyan invites the audience into a world where the human, the digital, and the sacred converge — a hypnotic experience at the crossroads of time and sound.
