April Jazz is an annual jazz music festival held in Espoo, Finland since 1987 at the end of April. It is the largest jazz festival in the Helsinki Metropolitan area.
Over the years, the festival has featured a large number of jazz superstars such as Ray Charles, Freddie Hubbard, McCoy Tyner and Sonny Rollins, as well as the most popular vocalists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Diane Schuur, Cassandra Wilson, Bobby McFerrin and Gregory Porter. April Jazz is organized by the Espoo Big Band ry, which is a non-profit association. In addition to the jazz festival, we organize about 20 April Jazz Club concerts every year. Another important part of our operations is the Espoo Big Band, which is one of Finland’s leading big jazz orchestras.
